Golf: St. Pierre (3 miles), Coleford (8 miles), Monmouth (16 miles), Newport (16 miles).

Horse Racing: Chepstow has 20 days racing each year, Cheltenham is only 30 miles away.

Rugby: Cardiff Arms Park and the Millennium stadium can be reached within 3/4 of an hour. First class clubs at Newport, Pontypool, Bristol and Lydney.

Theatre: Welsh National Opera Company have a regular season at Cardiff.
There are excellent presentations at New Theatre.

Wildlife: Newent Falconry Centre, Bristol Zoo, Beaufort Aviaries.

Car Rallying: Forest of Dean Rally in February, the RAC Rally often uses this area.
